The band was formed in 1997 by Claudio Barone (b/vo/mandolin), who used to play in a LE ORME tribute band in the 70's. While playing various gigs, Barone has played with some of the biggest names in Italian rock such as Lino Vairetti, Tony Pagliuca, and Ettore Vigo. In 2009, the band released its debut album "OMNIA SUNT COMMUNIA" on the Black Widow label, more than a quarter of a century after its formation,GRUPPO AUTONOMO SUONATORI is a vintage-oriented Italian Rock band featuring analog synths, organ, saxophone and flute. The live recording of their performance at the prog festival "Mexprog 2023" in Mexico City in June '23 is now available from Sol & Deneb Records in Mexico in 2012! In addition to songs from "OMNIA SUNT COMMUNIA", the band performed new songs "Nomos", "Time Out", and "Niente nella Mente".
