If your just starting out, presets can help you make sense of a labyrinth of controls. However, once your even moderately proficient at your craft, you will begin to appreciate the flexibility offered by freely assignable controls. The Xone:K1 can be mapped in any way you see fit, allowing you to control your audio software exactly the way you want. The 3-colour backlighting provides multi-colour feedback for control layering supported software. It one of these isn't enough, you can also hook up multiple devices or any other Allen & Heath gear using the X:LINK daisy chaining system.
